Operations Engineer/Manager 

Job Description 

Alchemi Technologies is looking for a qualified and innovative Operations Engineer/Manager to promote business growth, increase the efficiency of our operations and to assist executives in other business development activities. In this role, your duties will include overseeing basic daily business activities, assisting in the implementation of enterprise automation solutions and reporting to the CEO/CTO.


The role of the Operations Engineer also includes ensuring the company's operations: product design, manufacturing and order fulfillment run smoothly and efficiently, whilst complying with management's specifications. You may also be required to assist in product development and innovation within the company, as well as performing routine administrative tasks. This job will provide the candidate with the opportunity to travel abroad, especially to Shenzhen, China. 

To ensure success as an Operations Engineer, you should demonstrate advanced operational competency, have a firm understanding of the engineering sciences, of automation and programming as well as display excellent managerial and communication qualities.   


Operations Engineer/Manager Scope Overview:

  • Reporting to the CEO and CTO about company processes and procedures.

  • Effectively communicate with manufacturers and liaise with other Alchemi Operatives to achieve desired outcomes. 

  • Developing and implementing company policies that ensure operational and manufacturing compliance as set out by the company's standards and guidelines.

  • Improving business functionality to align with the company's core objectives.

  • Planning and managing projects and contributing to product innovation. 

  • Promoting efficiency by implementing improved operational procedures.

  • Analyzing and maintaining operational data, and monitoring product inventories.

  • Monitoring for adherence to policies and processes throughout the company.

  • Ensuring positive client, supplier, and vendor relationships.

  • Drive and supervise positive business growth.

  • Oversee day-to-day business activities.

  • Introduce and implement innovative short and long-term business goals.

  • Liaise and consult with clients, staff, and suppliers.

  • Evaluate and enhance employee performance.

  • Oversee and manage budget activities.

  • Harmonize organizational activities.

  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale

Key Assignments:

  • Assist in the setup, growth and maintenance of the Alchemi SA Design Office in Somerset West/S'bosch area. 

  • Assist in the maintenance and growth of the Alchemi Shenzhen Head Quarters. 

  • Assist in product development of the Alchemi Viper range. 

  • Assist in product development of the Alchemi MPPT solar charger series. 

  • Assist in product development of the Alchemi Solar Energy Storage Systems Range. 

  • Develop SOP (standard operating procedures) documents for Alchemi business practices and manufacturing. 

  • Pursue leads and close deals. 

  • Assist in the promotion and advertisement of Alchemi and its product offerings

  • Assist and serve customers, providing a high standard of technical customer service

  • Assist in assembly and quality control operations.

Operations Engineer Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

  • A Master's Degree in a related field preferred.

  • Experience with CAD and manufacturing. 

  • Software development experience, preferably in C#  or other functional languages.

  • Extensive experience in an operations management position, or similar.

  • In-depth knowledge of project management and strategic planning.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to promote efficiency toward achieving business objectives and profitability.

  • Advanced knowledge of best business practices.

  • Experience with budgets and financial reports, and monitoring expenses.

  • Developing human resources policies, and monitoring compliance and performance.
